Learn More about San Juan

Located on the Philippine island of Luzon, and part of the metropolis of Manila, discover San Juan
In terms of area, it is the smallest city in the country, despite its 123,000 inhabitants.
San Juan has a Hispanic name due to the Spanish colonisation of the Philippines, which began in the 16th century.

One of the first things you can do when you arrive in San Juan is to go to San Juan Beach. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a postcard-perfect landscape: as heavenly as it is soothing. You can swim in the Lingayen Gofle and watch a magical sunset.

A little further on, you can visit St. John the Baptist Parish. It is a church belonging to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, dating back to the 19th century. The construction was supervised by Spanish architects.

Take advantage of your stay to extend it and go to the capital Manila. With its 1.8 million inhabitants, the city is influenced by various cultures through its history: Spanish, American, Chinese.
You can visit many religious buildings such as the Quiapo Church with its baroque architecture dating from the 16th century, or the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Manila, founded in 1571, which has a special history as it was destroyed 7 times.

Fort Santiago is also worth a visit as it is representative of the history of the Philippines. It is a Spanish defensive stronghold that played an important role in the spice trade with America at the time.

You can also relax by taking a walk in the Rizal Park, which is full of plants and trees. A statue of the Filipino poet José Rizal is located here.

If you like adventure, don't hesitate to go to Taal, a Philippine volcano, located about 60 km from Manila. Occupied by Taal Lake, the volcano offers exotic scenery.

The area between San Juan and Manila is full of landscapes and activities to discover, not to mention the local specialities to taste in the markets and restaurants.
